Organ Transplant

HOME FREE

Greyhound Lines, Inc. in connection with the carriers shown below, will provide free One-Way Transportation from any point in the Continental United States (excluding Alaska) to any point in the Continental United States (excluding Alaska) when Transportation is limited to the routes of the Carriers named for Runaway Children meeting the following criteria:
  1. The Runaway Child must be between twelve (12) and twenty (20) years of age;
  2. The Runaway must be confirmed as such by the police department or by an officer of the court; and
  3. The Runaway must be returning home voluntarily and must contact the National Runaway Switchboard at 1-800-RUNAWAY for travel assistance;
  4. Youths between the ages of twelve (12) and fifteen (15) will be required to travel with a parent, guardian or legal custodian when utilizing this service. Round trip transportation for the parent, guardian or legal custodian from their hometown to the city where the child is located will be provided free of charge.
  5. Youths fifteen (15) to seventeen (17) may travel with a parent or guardian, when feasible. Round trip transportation for the parent, guardian or legal custodian from their hometown to the city where the child is located will also be provided free of charge.

Requests for free transportation will be as follows:
  1. All requests must be made through the National Runaway Switchboard, which will in turn verify the runaway's status with local authorities and contact the main Telephone Information Center.
  2. Ticket authorization will be coordinated through the TIC. The closest facility to the runaway will be notified by either the TIC, if travel is to begin on Greyhound, or by the general office of the carrier involved, if travel is to begin on a carrier other than Greyhound. Only carriers named herein will allow free transportation for runaways returning home.
  3. A reservation number will be relayed through the Runaway Switchboard to a police officer or an adult from a local social service agency who will accompany the child to the Greyhound (or other named carrier) facility and provide the reservation number to the ticket agent.
  4. The ticket agent will then issue a ticket.

"LET'S FIND THEM"

In this program, Greyhound Lines, Inc. offers free transportation for missing and exploited children being reunited with their families.

One way transportation from the city where the child is located to their hometown, and round trip transportation for up to 2 family members (parents or adult guardians) from their hometown to the city where the child is located will be provided free of charge.

Transportation is limited to the Continental United States (excluding Alaska) and to the routes of Greyhound Lines, Inc. only.

Request for free transportation under this program must be approved through the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in Washington, DC. Toll-free number: 1-800-843-5678.

ORGAN TRANSPLANT

Greyhound Lines, Inc. will provide free transportation to Organ Transplant Patients traveling solo or accompanied by a companion traveling with the patient for the purpose of obtaining medical services for the Organ Transplant Patient.

Transportation will be via the routes of Greyhound Lines, Inc. only and limited to the Continental United States (excluding Alaska).

The Organ Transplant Patient and one (1) companion or the Transplant Patient traveling alone will be provided Round-Trip Transportation between the transplant patient's hometown and the city in which medical services are to be obtained.

If a Transplant Patient is traveling accompanied, the Organ Transplant Patient and his/her companion must travel together for the entire round-trip.

Round-Trip tickets issued under authority of this tariff will be limited to sixty (60) days including date of issue.
