GENERAL RULES AND REGULATIONS GOVERNING REDUCED FARES

City Specific Reduced Fares published in this Manual may be used for the sale of transportation at points in Canada, as well as Buffalo, N.Y. & Detroit, MI, for travel on the routes of the Participating Carriers named herein. NOTE: On the GCTC Vancouver - Nanaimo route there will be an additional charge at Vancouver and/or Nanaimo for BC Ferries (the amount of which changes seasonally).
Fares are shown in dollars and cents and are payable in lawful Canadian currency or its equivalent. A G.S.T. will be applied to fares for travel within Canada.
Do NOT charge GST to International fares.

LIMITSValid for travel Daily.
     Travel date must be printed on the ticket, a fee will be charged for any changes.
     One Way valid 365 days from date of sale. Return valid 365 days from date of sale.
HOLIDAY BLACKOUT PERIODSNotification will be sent out if any individual excursion is to be blackout for any holidays
ROUTESValid for travel on routes of the Participating Carriers ONLY. Fares apply to the direct scheduled route, or a route that does NOT exceed the direct route mileage by more then 20%.
CHANGES IN ROUTINGChanges in routing are NOT ALLOWED after the ticket has been issued.
Exception: Tickets may be reissued to correct errors in the routing of the original ticket. Origin and/or destination may NOT be changed on the reissued ticket.
SURCHARGESNotification will be sent out if any individual Excursion is subject to weekend surcharges.
UPGRADEAlthough non-refundable, unused or partially used tickets may be upgraded to a full fare ticket upon payment of the difference in fares. The origin and/or destination may NOT change in an upgrade. Upgraded tickets remain NON-REFUNDABLE.
Exception: A set of Companion Fare tickets (Full fare ticket & Companion ticket) may be upgraded to a SINGLE full fare ticket at no additional charge. Both tickets must be surrendered for the exchange.
DISCOUNTSNo further discounts will apply. Discounted Fares, i.e., Seniors, Student's, Children's, Reduced Fare Excursions, Group Fares or any other Reduced Rates (e.g. Employee Reduced Rates), will not apply to Reduced Fares. EXCURSION fares DO NOT APPLY to, Party, Group, Exclusive occupancy, Employee Reduced Rates or other special fares or discounts and may not be altered in any way.
UNACCOMPANIED MINORSAre NOT entitled to use ANY Child fare, but they may use a valid student or adult excursion.
STOP OVERSNO stop overs en route will be permitted. Only regularly scheduled breaks and transfers.
NON-BASINGNot to be combined with any other fare.
NON-BLANKETINGNot valid for purchase or boarding from intermediate points.
CITY PAIR SPECIFICIf a tariff is City Pair Specific, tickets may only to be used from cities shown in that tariff (valid in either direction). Departure must be from a city listed in that particular tariff and printed on the ticket.
NON-TRANSFERABLEAt the request of any Driver, Agent, or other Authorized Representative of the Honouring Carrier, the passenger must present documents which properly identify the passenger as the original purchaser.

RESTRICTIONS

  1. Fares will apply to Regular Adult one-way and round-trip fares as published in by the participating carriers listed in the GCTC Rules & Regulations for Excursions and/or Canadian Passenger Tariff No. 1-A issued by N.B.T.A.
  2. For US fares use the appropriate provincial table published in Section 6 of this manual in connection with mileage determined from the National Mileage Tariff NBTA 111. Note: These fares are in US funds.
  3. Tickets valid for travel daily.
    One Way tickets valid for 365 days.
    Round Trip tickets valid for 365 days.
  4. Tickets must be purchased three (3) days in advance of travel.
  5. Travel MUST be Together on SAME ITINERARY.
  6. ONLY ONE child age under the age of two (2) may be carried free.
  7. This excursion is NOT valid for use by Unaccompanied Children.
  8. No further discount (with exception of the children as described below)
  9. Subject to weekend/holiday surcharge and (if applicable) travel blackouts.
  10. Ability to refund comes from base fare (restricted vs. Flex).

FAREThe first passenger pays full one-way or return adult or senior, regular or EXO43, (Non-Refundable or Refundable) walk-up fare and up to three companions pay 50 percent of the applicable fare. Up to 2 children may travel as the companion for 50 percent of the applicable child's fare. The GST applies to all fares.
IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT PASSENGERS NOT PURCHASE ONE-WAY TICKETS TO THE USA.
DO NOT CHARGE GST ON INTERNATIONAL FARES.

AIR MILES PROGRAM

Greyhound Canada Transportation Corp. is a service supplier to the Air Miles loyalty program. Air Miles members will be able to redeem collected Air Miles points for travel on Greyhound.

An Air Miles collector can redeem 150 Air Miles and receive a travel voucher, which would entitle the holder to one of the following travel options:

  1. Collectors can redeem their voucher for a 40% discount off any regular priced adult fare (one way or return) for travel on any Greyhound route or Interline with the carriers listed below. This voucher is valid only on regular priced tickets. This excludes any promotional or excursion fares or discount fares such as commuter, senior, child, student, etc.. Vouchers are valid for one (1) year from date of issue.
  2. Collectors can redeem their vouchers for the purchase of a 7, 15, 30 and 60 day Discovery Pass, at the same price to the next lowest travel period. For example: A 15 day Pass will be issued at the price of a 7 day Pass; a 60 Day Pass for the price of a 30 Day Pass, etc.

Vouchers may be redeemed as outlined above at the appropriate fare for that passenger

Redemption of points will be handled directly by Air Miles who will issue a travel voucher redeemable at any GREYHOUND agency.

RESTRICTIONS

Tickets issued under the Air Miles Program are non-refundable.

Discovery Pass products are valid on Greyhound Canada & Interline routes listed in individual tariffs.
